I’ve been inspired by some of the books I’ve been reading lately. Bioluminescent fish prints are now a thing.

I hope my artistic portrayal of one person’s ordinary life brings an awareness to the viewer that leads to thoughts and actions protecting the radically changing but still sacred world we live so precariously within.

I’m back from vacation and here is one of the few paintings I did while I was away.

My latest finished piece: “Godling Gardens with a Broken Heart”

While I had all the studio lighting set up… I decided to take some photos of myself with my art. I’m finding I don’t have many good photos of myself recently for things like this website, etsy, etc. So, I’ll share a few here:

I’ve been struggling with the fact that everyone seems to like my art featuring realistic representational subjects rather than abstracted or impressionist subjects. I feel like the latter is more my “real art” compared to something that is just for fun or aesthetically pleasing.

This week I applied to two juried exhibitions: The “Water” themed exhibition put on by Round Rock Arts and an unthemed one put on by Studio 111 in Tyler, TX.

I wanted both views to be true and right.  I want people to remember that this is true in the real world too - that there are different views that are both true and right.

I get excited about my workspace sometimes and just wanted to share it…

TBH, my use of metallic liquid acrylics and acrylic paint markers feels like “cheating” or “breaking the rules” - not in a good way. I LOVE the way it looks though.
